Create an update
Open Knowledge base > Updates. You need Updates permission or administrator access. This is not the same permission as for help articles.
- Select the language and create an update.
- Write the title, content and Display date, and add a label and its color if appropriate.
- When the content is empty, you can start from a New feature, Improvement or Fix template.
- Review the preview and save the draft.
The title allows 150 characters and the label 40. The editor supports visual formatting and HTML. Display date determines the date shown and the update's order. It does not schedule publication.
Translation and publication
Save changes before switching languages. Title, content and label name have translations; date, color and publication status are shared across the whole update.
Review the required versions before clicking Publish and confirming. Unpublish also affects the global status. Saving edits to an already published update keeps it published and changes its public content. To prepare a separate version, you can duplicate it: the copy starts as a draft with the current date.
The list lets you search titles and labels, filter by status and label, and view visits and reactions. A fallback title in the list does not prove that a translation exists in every language.
Updates settings
In its settings, you can add languages and choose the default. You cannot remove the default language without first choosing another.
Show update notifications lets you enable or disable notices. Disabling them does not unpublish updates or send emails. You can choose Contacts only or Contacts and visitors; Expanded view or Inside the widget; and whether to allow replies by message. Changing these notices also requires Widget permission. Check that Updates is visible in the widget or portal where you want to show it.
