Install and configure the Webchat widget

Install the widget

In Settings > Developers > Widget installation, you can copy the workspace code or send instructions to a developer by providing a name, email and message. You need Developers permission. Check the recipient before sending and always use the correct workspace's code.

Paste the code before the closing </body> tag on every page where you want to show the widget. After installing it on your website, check that it loads and that a test conversation reaches the expected workspace. If it does not appear, review allowed domains, visibility, device and module status.

Widget configuration

In Settings > Widget, you can change its options with Widget permission. Some capabilities also depend on the plan.

  • Appearance: colors, logo, left/right position and spacing. The logo accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF files up to 5 MB.
  • Conversations: chat, article and update modules; opening/reopening conversations; when to request email; email notifications and available satisfaction options.
  • Visibility: global hiding, devices and pages. Rules may require all conditions or any of them. Check the result with the actual URL and device.
  • Availability: office hours and independently enabled in-hours/out-of-hours messages. This is not Voice configuration.
  • Privacy: consent options and policy URL. Enabling them does not, by itself, certify your website's regulatory compliance.
  • Qualification form: fields and translations, depending on the plan.

Click Save to apply changes. If a partial save is reported, some fields have been saved and others remain pending; review the message and complete the save. It is neither an atomic operation nor autosave.

Qualification form

Select the language and add available attributes without duplicating them. You can reorder fields, translate labels, help text and options, and mark fields required or read-only. Email and Message are structural fields that the form must retain; they cannot be deleted like custom fields.

Languages and text

In Widget languages, with Languages permission, select a language, find the message and edit its text. Save before switching languages. English is used as a reference; English and the default language cannot be removed using the corresponding control. Changing the default also requires Widget permission.

Widget languages are separate from article and Updates translations. Check each surface separately. A widget displaying on mobile does not imply that mobile voice calls are available.
