Import contacts

When you create a new workspace in FROGED and you need to upload information of a large number of contacts, you use import functionality. Not all agents in a workspace are allowed to import.

You can import individual users from ‘users’ view or companies from ‘companies’ view. In addition, if users are imported with full company attribute with a value that does not exist in FROGED, new associated companies are created.

To import contacts, click on ‘import’ button at the top right.

In the window that opens there is a space to drag or select a CSV file with information of new contacts.

Once CSV file has been loaded, select ‘Import’ button. After this, a warning appears informing you that file has been uploaded successfully and import of contacts has started. This process may take some time depending on amount of information in file. During import of contacts, you can continue working in FROGED without interrupting process.

When import is finished, an email is sent to uploading agent. In the email you can see a summary of what has happened:
  • Processed contacts
  • Imported contacts
  • Missed contacts
  • Typing errors
  • Missing information or attributes

After reviewing the received email, you can check in ‘contacts’ section of FROGED that you have correctly created users or companies in table.

Instructions for importing contacts

In order to import contacts correctly you must follow instructions below:
  • Use CSV template that is downloaded in import window
  • Maximum of 10 MB CSV file weight
  • CSV file with attributes of contacts separated by commas
  • Each user must have complete attributes ‘user ID’ and ‘email
  • Each company must have complete ‘company ID’ attribute
  • The format of date fields must be yyyy/mm/dd
  • The field containing a comma must be enclosed in double quotes, e.g. ‘21st Street, 4th Floor’
  • Use double quotes to separate within a quoted field, e.g. ‘Company’‘ABC’‘Inc’

Consult import history

In the FROGED settings on data, you can consult all the imports made in the workspace to have order and control of the data and contact uploads. In the view, the imports of users and companies are separated into 2 different tabs so that they do not get mixed up.

In the import table, you can analyse the result of the imported contacts, who has done it and when, the imported file and the status of the import.

In case the import has errors or was not successful, you can download the same file to modify the data and import again. The file is downloaded by clicking on the right button at the end of the row.

To perform a new import from this same view, there is a button in the top right corner. Just click on it and choose what to import: users or companies.
